Maria Mendez (Founder) attended the SOMOS Conference in Albany on April 18, 2026. She had the opportunity to introduce the NYS Association of CASAC Professionals and to engage in meaningful conversations with the OASAS Commissioner, Dr. Chinazo Cunningham, and Senator Nathalia Fernandez, a great advocate and supporter of the SUD field.
During the conference, the topics discussed included the NYS CASAC Association’s mission and goals, as well as the critical need to elevate and support the CASAC workforce across New York State. This is exactly why our Association exists – for YOU! Maria is committed to advocating, building strong relationships, and ensuring that CASACs have a powerful and respected voice at the table.
