Code of Conduct & Ethics
Every NYS-CASAC Association membership includes a commitment to uphold the Association’s Code of Ethics. Modeled after NAADAC and OASAS standards, this code ensures that members practice with professionalism, cultural humility, and ethical integrity.
By agreeing to these standards, members demonstrate their commitment to trust with clients, colleagues, and the broader community. Ethical conduct is the backbone of effective addiction counseling, and with NYS-CASAC Association membership, you align yourself with a statewide community of professionals dedicated to the same principles.
The Code emphasizes respect, confidentiality, inclusivity, and accountability. It also reflects the Association’s broader commitment to anti-racism, equity in behavioral health, and advocacy for underserved communities.
Through your NYS-CASAC Association membership, you agree to hold yourself and your colleagues accountable, ensuring that the CASAC credential remains synonymous with quality and integrity in New York State.
